Lack of sleep can be harmful to our health !

Sleep is crucial for good health. As we move through flu season, the key to staying healthy might just be getting a good night’s sleep. Studies have shown that lack of sleep suppresses immune system function,there is a direct link between sleep and the immune system. During sleep, Our immune system release protine called Cytokins, some of them help promote sleep. Here’s all the more reason why we should get quality sleep. While researching the importance of sleep on mental and physical well being, a study found that sleeping for fewer than seven hours a night increased the risk of catching flu or bacterial infections. The risk was make compared with those who slept for eight hours or more a night. Expert recommend getting a good night’s sleep help us feel less stressed and keeps us alert, active and in good health during flu season and all year long.

For a good night’s sleep, set a sleep schedule of bedtime and wake up time, switch off from work related stuff and spend time with family to help fall asleep at 10p.m. every night. To release body practice some breathing exercise for a few minutes, avoid phone, TV and computer before bedtime. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, Nicotine and other stimulants that interfere with sleep. Exercise regularly clear head and sleep tight.
