Deepika Padukone revealed the first look from Chappak as Malti, the acid attack survivor, see pic
After stunning the audience with her spectacular performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone is all set to be back on screen with another project Chhapaak, Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, a film based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
On Monday, the actress took to Twitter to share the first look of her character named Malti. “A character that will stay with me forever…#Malti,” the actress captioned the picture.

Deepika will be seen in Chappak which she will be seen stepping into the shoes of Laxmi Agarwal, the most known acid attack survivor/activist.
Recently, The Popular film award Filmfare Awards 2019 has concluded and actress Alia Batt Bagged best actress award for Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi. The movie also helped Alia Bhatt win the Best Actress for the movie. While Alia’s fans are happy for her achievment, Deepika Padukone’s fans were disappointed with the result. Deepika was nominated for Best Actress for her act in Padmaavat but she failed to take the black lady home. Deepika took to a comments section of one of her fan pages to apologised to her fans. Chennai Express actress wrote, “To all my fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before…”.Chhapaak is slated to release in 10th January 2020.
