NAC Open supercross in kohima
For the first time in Nagaland under the banner of FMSCI (Federation of motor sports council of India), Nagaland Adventure club (NAC) is all set to organize Open Supercross, a first of its kind two-wheeler sports event in north-east, at Kohima.NAC secretary Purakum Ao said that the event will have four categories – Expert(Indian Bikes), Novice(Indian Bikes), Open ( Indian as well as foreign made Bikes), and special( only for bikers from Nagaland) and will have in total cash prizes of Rs. 3,00,000. He also said bikes till 500 CC can participate in the event. The minimum age for participating in the event is 16 years and two-wheeler license is not required.
74 bikers from different states of the country are competing in the Open Supercross at kohima local ground. The first ever Supercross event organized in the state and has competitors from Meghalaya, Assam, Mizoram, Haryana, Bengaluru, Delhi and Nagaland. Out of the 74 bikers, 32 are competing in Novice category, 21 in open, 10 in local and 11 in expert.The qualifying rounds of the four categories are being held yesterday while the final rounds will be held today.
